Little views of happy

Hello Lovelies :-)

I'm rather excited about a little parcel I received this morning,
I couldn't resist the Drops sale over at The Wool Warehouse
 These beauties were inside...

Aren't they gorgeous?
I have plans a brewing for these oh so soft plump lovelies....
The ice blue skein will be lovingly crafted into a shawl for a beloved family member
And the others will become shawly things for me
...I think I'll start on the green :-)

*************

So there I was standing in the kitchen taking photos of the lace weight yarn when I thought how about showing you my happy cottage kitchen. I've always argued myself out of it before now as it's never pristine. I'm not the most tidy of people and to top the untidyness off, we have a solid fuel Rayburn... this means lots of sooty dust!

So, shall we start the little tour?

Our home it's full of things that reminds me of people
- loved ones, both family and friends and others that remain in my heart that I can no longer see.

Creations from when my children were small and newer ones by Little Miss and Young Master...our beloved grandchildren.

Washed recycled jars drying and waiting for harvest jams and chutneys.

Lime pickle fermenting - my wonderful, caring son in law will be delighted :-)

And finally just to dispel all romantic notions.... my next job is.....

...sweeping :-)

Ok my lovelies, thank you so much for visiting and I wish each one you a wonderful weekend and half term.....
Yay! I will have Lovely Husband home for a week :-) :-) :-)

Blessings to you all
Ttfn Tracey

    1. Hi Vanessa, thank you :-) Yes, it is a lovely place to be even though it's not finished...still need to do the wall tiling and get counter tops that are actually screwed down! It's funny how you don't see things after a while.
I'll show each one as they are made but it might be a while yet.
Have a lovely weekend with your family,

    1. Thanks Heather :-) Hehe we have several wood stores and still need more. Lovely Husband is great at DIY. The dresser is Irish but it looks as if it's been made for our kitchen; we found it at our local junk shop. Have a great weekend,

  6. The Wool Warehouse is one of my online shops, it is a great sale, maybe I should indulge a little before it's too late.
I like the colours you've chosen, lace weight, that's thinner than fingering (4ply) isn't it? I have never worked with a lace weight before, I look forward to your progress.
What a lovely homey space you have, full of a bit of everyone who is dear to you. I love the children's art stuff, very special. Thanks for the tour Tracey xx

    1. Hi Linda, a little won't hurt, Lol! Yes, lace weight it's very thin and creates a beautiful loose fabric with a larger hook or needles... see my http://yarnandpencil.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/the-gift-ta-dah.html post.
      Thanks for commenting :-)

    1. Hi Zana and thanks :-) Yes and it feels oh so yummy too. I find charity shops irresistible but I'm finding they tend to put higher prices on these days so I often have to leave find s for someone else. Do you find that lots of people give you bits?

  9. Very pretty! My dresser is topped with tins as well, and I am also a fan of crocheted jug covers. I do like the look of your yarn, especially the green - what a flattering shade. It can be hard to find just the right shade of green (and orange) at times. I look forward to seeing your projects and learning about how that yarn works up.

    1. Hello Jodiebodie, I was thrilled when I opened the package and saw the green... you can never be quite sure when buying online can you? I'm a bit of a sucker for tins...even boring Christmas ones; I need to make colourful cosy jackets for those particular tins. Thanks for commenting

  17. It's the personal touches that make a house a home and your dresser shows this. I sympathise with you on the Rayburn, I used to have a solid fuel Aga that used to eat anthracite... what a messy thing that was (but I do secretly miss it). Have a wonderful half term xx
