Hello :-)
Just thought I would drop by and give you a glimpse of what I am doing today as I haven't given you an update on what I am doing with these vintage hexies....
Not a brilliant photo as I used my tablet but much quicker, allowing me to get on with hand quilting.
I will give you an update with better quality photos soon.
Oh joy! The sun has appeared :-)

Very intriguing! lovely colours. wish the sun would appear here all we have had for the last 3 days is fog and rain, Enjoy your sunshine. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda :-)
DeleteThe sunshine didn't last very long but we did get to have a lovely walk in the woods at Selworthy. Wishing you sunshine soon, Tracey xx

Hi Susan, thank you :-) and to you too.

Oh that is looking very fun indeed - I can't wait to see more! The colours!!! Loving the bright blue/turquoise between the hexies, it's gorgeous. I'd love to hear more about your hand quilting when you're finished, I've only made one quilt so far by machine, but I love embroidery so hand quilting appeals to me very much. Enjoy the week! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteAh Chrissie, it's the photo.. the background is blue. I would have loved to use an aqua or teal colour but this is what I had in my stash. But even so, the blue does make the hexies come alive. Yay!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it sounds like you would enjoy hand quitting - perhaps start with a cushion cover or similar. This is the first hand quilting I've done for years, I used to do a lot in my late twenties and thirties.
Wishing you a great week too,
Tracey xx
Hand quilting? Wow! Sounds amazing. I am loving all the colors you have chosen. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Robbie, thanks for commenting :-) Yes, hand quilting... I haven't quilted for years and I'm not properly into the rhythm of it again as yet but it is getting tidier as I go along. I only chose the blue fabric as the hexies were a charity shop find and the backing papers reveal that it was started c. 1952! Great find :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week,
Tracey xx
Hi Tracey, Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love your hand quilting. If I had more time I would like to try it - I've done machine quilting but now all my (very limited) spare time is taken up with hook and yarn! Have a lovely Wednesday. Jane xx
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, you are welcome, it is lovely to visit you :-)
ReplyDeleteAh, at least you have time for crochet :-)
Thanks for visiting,
Tracey xx
It looks adorable from what I can see! Can't wait to see it all done! ~Angela~
